Minister Chabane to address the National Youth Convention

Minister in The Presidency, Collins Chabane, responsible for Performance Monitoring and Evaluation will deliver a keynote address at the National Youth Convention in Kimberley in the Northern Cape. The purpose of the convention is to discuss and consult the youth on the draft Integrated Youth Development Strategy (IYDS).
The IYDS is a requirement of the National Youth Development Agency Act which require of the agency to develop a strategy and plan to integrate youth development issues in the mainstream of both private and public sector work. The strategy also provides for a coordinated approach for implementation of the programmes for sustainable livelihoods of young people.
The convention serves as a final step in the consultation process and will bring together all youth formations with the attendance of about 1000 young people.
Minister Chabane will deliver the keynote address on Friday, 5 August 2011 at 18h00 at the Mayibuye Activities Centre in Galeshewe, Kimberly.
